we are so lucky to have the support of so many community-minded volunteers!
Registration is now open for volunteers of the 2023 Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival!
Unlike previous years, we will begin by taking volunteer applications at this time. Mid-to-late May, all approved volunteers will receive an email including details on how to sign up for shifts this summer, Wellness & COVID policies for 2023 and details for volunteer recognition and perks this season.

Volunteer COVID-19 Info:
- While we are asking whether people are vaccinated against COVID-19 in the applications, we will not be requiring any proof of vaccination for volunteers this season. (Our festival staff was required to submit proof of vaccination upon hiring)
- Masks must be worn at all times when indoors. This includes in the Box Office, Sir Toby’s Tavern and inside the amphitheatre. The exception to this is if you are alone in a building.
- When outdoors, masks must be worn when the volunteer cannot safety distance (6 feet) from patrons, staff, or other volunteers. We anticipate these times to be gathering at the beginning of shift and when assisting patrons entering and exiting the site or amphitheatre. If you can complete your duties at a safe distance from patrons, staff, or other volunteers or you are on a break, you may remove your mask outdoors at your comfort level.
- Masks must be worn at all times (indoor and outdoor) when serving food and drink (Sunday Tea, Chefs on the Saskatchewan).
- Please do not show up for your shift if you are feeling unwell, even if you have tested negative for COVID-19. If you test positive for COVID-19 during our season, please abide by the SHA recommended five-day isolation period and/or 48 hours symptom free before returning to the festival site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Brandi at festival@shakespearesask.com.
