Local Artist
Daniel Ford Beavis is a veteran Saskatoon-based fight director, actor, educator and stage-combat specialist who’s been at the heart of Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan for over 25 years. Since joining the festival in the early 2000s, he has choreographed combat for classics including Romeo & Juliet, Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night and Hamlet.
Beyond Shakespeare, Daniel has taught stunt performance globally—at Seattle’s International Stunt School, the Banff Centre, University of Saskatchewan, and workshops around the world. A fixture in the Saskatchewan film scene, he’s contributed to regional features like 13 Eerie, Chained, Ferocious, Mercy, Cagefighter, Cowboy Christmas and the upcoming #Vanlife and Gifts of Christmas. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Daniel has taught the Paddy Crean Stage Combat Workshop and famously performed a fire-stunt demonstration. A true force in Saskatoon’s performing arts, he brings energy, safety and flair to every production. Daniel is very happy to be back again to create art with old friends and new.
